Woodlawn
Presbyterian Church’s “Mission” is three fold:
To provide a
welcoming community of faith-based worship that
encourages personal spiritual growth:
By
caring for our church family in body, mind, and
spirit.
By
serving the needs of the people of our local and the
global community.
By being open to
opportunities to tell of the love of God and the
hope we have in Jesus Christ.
December 6, 2009
Woodlawn Presbyterian Church
welcomed our new Pastor, Rev Kathleen Lambert,
today with her first sermon at the 10:00 a.m. Worship
Service.
Rev
Lambert had answered our ‘Call’ and moved here recently
from Canton, Ohio with her husband Adam and three
children.
Kathleen Lambert was ordained in
2004 through the National Capital Presbytery and
Neelsville Presbyterian Church in Germantown, Maryland.
She has served as an Associate Pastor in Maryland and
Massachusetts.
Kathleen received her M. Divinity
degree from Ashland Theological Seminary in Ashland,
Ohio. She also spent a year of study at Pittsburgh
Theological Seminary and a year studying pastoral
counseling at EMERGE Ministries in Akron, Ohio.
Throughout
their sixteen years of marriage, Kathleen and Adam have
had three children; Genevieve, 9, Ashleigh, 7, and
James, 2 …each born in a different state as they
followed Adam’s career as a biopharmaceutical scientist
up and down the east coast. Together, they look forward
to following Kathleen’s calling and Call to Florida.
Rev Lambert brings good
qualifications and varied experiences including the
LOGOS youth program; family ministry; pastoral
counseling; contemporary worship services and, she’s
‘musical’… plays a guitar!....maybe we can encourage
and enjoy her musical talents too!
We are delighted to welcome
Kathleen, Adam and their children into our Woodlawn
Family and look forward to her enriching our worship and
guiding and leading us in enlarging our mission of
“Bringing
people to Jesus Christ and bringing Jesus Christ to
people.”
