Local Missions

There are many opportunities to participate in mission at Woodlawn Church.

On February 19th, our Missions group served dinner to 165 people in need of a meal at St. Vincent DePaul, a local charitable organization.

People enjoyed a delicious dinner of Beef Tips with gravy, and desert!

Funds were collected during the Souper Bowl Sunday. Our congregation generously contributed and those funds were quickly put to good use for this dinner!

We hope to provide meals for those less fortunate at least once each quarter and are always looking for ways to fund the dinners and other projects.

There's a dedicated group of people here at Woodlawn whose main focus is "Mission" into our local community. We do feel more "blessed" when we can give to those in need.

Approximately $200.00 was collected on February 5^th for The Souper Bowl of Caring
with 100% of the monies collected being put to good use within our Community!

Thanks to ALL who gave to help our Missions committee to serve others, and thanks to those who provided Fellowship with a bounty of delicious homemade soups (WOW, were they delicious!), breads and cookies….such a nice treat after Service.

Also…gratitude to all you who stayed to help tidy up the Kitchen and Fellowship Hall!
(Tell everybody how much fun the ‘fellowship of working together’ is…maybe they won’t want to miss out next time.)

Donations of Food and Closing in January and February total $200.00 . The Mission Committee requests that canned goods, clothing, blankets, shoes, and paperback books be brought in to Fellowship Hall on the third Sunday of each month then distribution is made to Daystar Life Center to help our community.

Our Lord said it is more blessed to give than to receive…..let’s each of us add these ‘blessings of giving’ to our lives as we help those less fortunate!
