To add another
dimension to caring at Woodlawn, we have a Faith Community
Nursing program. Faith Community Nursing focuses on the health
of the body, mind, and spirit of the individual. Our Faith
Community Nurse acts as a resource person for health
information, does monthly blood pressure screenings, helps
families with placement of loved ones in a nursing home or
assisted living facility, and provides speakers on important
health topics. She works with our Pastor to coordinate visits
to our congregation members who are hospitalized, in nursing
homes, or homebound. Added support is given by Deacons through
their shepherding groups.
To meet special
concerns, we have had a Remembrance service for family and
friends of those who have died and a Healing service to address
spiritual as well as physical needs. Faith Community Nursing
brings a heightened awareness of health issues to our members
and a deeper concern for each other.
