If this is your first time worshiping at Woodlawn, we’d like you to feel welcome! We’d love to get to know you better and are looking forward to your visit!
You can find ample parking in the grassy lot across from the sanctuary at the corner of 12th St and 26th Avenue. Kids Korner is located at our other 12th Street entrance to the right of the Sanctuary.
Here’s what to expect from the worship service:
Traditional Service:
You’ll find our traditional worship service in the main sanctuary. You can enter through the main doors across from the parking area, or find it by following the signs if you enter through another door. Before the service, there is coffee in the Fellowship Hall if you’d like to have some and mingle, but we ask that you don’t take food or drink into the main sanctuary.
The service will start right at 10 am with a musical prelude and the chiming of the hour, followed by a welcome by the pastor. Expect familiar hymns and good music from our organist, choir and soloist, as well as a relevant, dynamic, Bible-based message from the pastor.
Although our service is traditional, the messages are accompanied by multimedia and usually handle topics relating to problems we all face in life, such as relationships, stress, and how to understand our faith on a day-to-day basis.
If this is your first time as our guest, please fill out the Connection Card found in the bulletin and place it in the offering plate so we can get to know you better. Get to know the congregation and the pastor better at the fellowship gathering in the Fellowship Hall (to the right of the sanctuary) immediately following the service.
Answers to some questions you might have:
What to wear?
At Woodlawn, dress is quite casual. We want you to feel comfortable worshiping, so feel free to dress comfortably. Most men wear a collared, button down shirt and slacks, but you won’t see many ties. Most women wear a comfortable dress, blouse and skirt, or nice slacks.
What do I do with my kids?
Children are welcome to stay in worship during the entire service, but you may also feel free to drop your child off at the Kids Korner when you arrive. Please check out the Kids Korner for more information.
Do I need anything for the service?
You don’t need anything other than a pen to take notes with, if you like. Bibles are provided in the sanctuary and relevant verses are displayed on the projector during the service.
What about Communion?
Communion at Woodlawn is usually the first Sunday of every month and is usually distributed by plates and small cups. We typically consume the elements as a whole with the pastor. All who trust in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior are welcomed to His table at Woodlawn.
Where can I find the church?
